The Nemesis dance performance by performing arts company Studio Wayne McGregor explores the relationship between body, screen and machine - extraterrestrial dance meets reality TV. Nemesis premiered at Sadler's Wells, London, before touring to more than 40 countries worldwide.
Nemesis is supported by the Arts Council of England and Southern Arts and is co-commissioned by South Hill Park, Swindon Dance, Sadler's Wells and DanceEast.
Collaborating on Nemesis were Wayne McGregor (Concept, Direction and Choreography), Scanner (Original Score), Jim Henson's Creature Shop (Costume and Mechanical Extensions), Jamie Courtier (Creative Director), Sharon Smith (Designer), Stonewood & Bryce (Fashion Design), Ravi Deepres (Digital Video Design), Luke Unsworth (After Effects Compositing), Lucy Carter (Lighting Design), Mark Hatchard (Animation and Visual Effects), Ellie Koorlander (Animation and Visual Effects), Edmund Kolloen (Animation and Visual Effects), Duncan Price (Animation and Visual Effects).
Hotbox Studios has been an inventive collaborator on a number of our works since 2002, for both large scale theatres and more intimate touring productions. Developing new and arresting techniques for animation that interplay seamlessly with live action on stage they have also developed eloquent sequences for my recent operas at La Scala and Covent Garden.
