Web Design and Umbraco CMS Development for Aegis the Union

We've been working closely with Aegis the Union to add new custom functionality to the financial union's website and Umbraco Content Management System (CMS); the CMS powering not only the financial union's website but also their representative portal, learning portal, and member portals.

Aegis the Union has been growing since 1971; initially formed as a staff association and growing to a trade union which gained independent status in 2008. Aegis focus is on workers' rights in the Finance Industry.

We’ve worked with Aegis to add restrictions and validation to their member profiles, whilst simplifying user interaction. Member restrictions are now in place allowing for only specific profile sections to be amended as appropriate, for example personal details, employer, staff number, address. Alongside this we’ve added additional validation and limited input in some areas to ensure no errors can occur with data entry.

We've also worked with Aegis the Union to integrate the email mailer within their Umbraco CMS with SendGrid; SendGrid being their external SMTP email partner. The new integration allows for enhanced email tracking and authentication.

We've added the Google ReCaptcha system to all of the website and CMS' forms to avoid non-human webpage submissions.

Finally, we performed a site-wide security and patch update on the Aegis the Union’s website and Umbraco CMS to ensure data security and integrity is maintained across the website, representative portal, learning portal, and member portals.
