Website Design and Ecommerce Web Development for Sunglasses for Sport

We have been working with Sunglasses for Sport developing a new WordPress website for the sports style sunglasses and eyewear company.

Sunglasses For Sport is a Hampshire based family run business established in 2007 and now one of the UK's leading online stores for sports style sunglasses and eyewear. Sunglasses For Sport offers a wide range of makes and models including sunglasses for children, prescription eyewear, polarised sunglasses, multi-lens sets, and over glasses, plus speciality glasses for cricket, cycling, horse riding, extreme sports, fishing, golf, running, shooting, skiing and snowboarding, tennis, and water sports.

The Sunglasses for Sport website is developed upon the WordPress Content Management System (CMS). We developed a ground up customised WordPress CMS and WordPress Theme to the Sunglasses for Sport website's requirements. Following the Sunglasses for Sport website going live; the WordPress CMS allows the team at Sunglasses for Sport to quickly and easily login to add new pages, images, and copy.

Powered by custom JavaScript the new Sunglasses for Sport website includes customised filtering and search based on brand, sport and style. The website’s ecommerce solution is powered by WooCommerce with customised merchant provider integration and email templates for invoicing and receipts.

We worked with Sunglasses for Sport to transfer all legacy product and category data into the website’s new theme, allowing the company to hit the ground running as soon as the new website was launched. We then developed an infinite scrolling solution (over pagination); meaning new products are shown automatically as users move down the page, rather than having to move to another page to see more.

The Sunglasses for Sport website also offers visitors a Mobile First Responsive Web Design (RWD) allowing for the Sunglasses for Sport website's content to be optimised for mobile interaction and predictably delivered irrespective of device. The addition of custom mobile device navigation results in a highly optimised browsing experience.

Prior to launch we worked with Sunglasses for Sport to move their web hosting to a new server; making sure on launch the new website would be lightning fast!
