Website Design and WordPress Web Development for Step by Step Fostering

We have been working with Step by Step Fostering developing a new WordPress website for the children's and young people's fostering agency based in Aldershot, Hampshire.

Drawing upon a 35-year legacy and committed to the needs of the most vulnerable in our society, Step by Step Fostering works across six counties in the South of England finding caring homes for children and young people. Working closely with it's parent company Step by Step Partnership which offers accommodation, advice and mental health support to young people experiencing homelessness and other challenges, funds raised by Step by Step Fostering are passed on to the Step by Step Partnership charity, helping the charity support hundreds of young people each year.

Prior to moving into the creative and technical development of the new Step by Step Fostering website, we worked with the team at Step by Step Fostering to map the digital journey of one of their typical users, to make sure the website's layout and navigation was as good a fit as possible. We then performed a full content audit to clarify copy and image requirements.

The new website we've designed for Step by Step Fostering has been developed upon the WordPress Content Management System (CMS). We developed a ground up customised WordPress CMS and WordPress Theme to the Step by Step Fostering website's requirements. Following the Step by Step Fostering website going live the WordPress CMS allows the Step by Step Fostering team to quickly and easily login to add new pages, images, and copy.

The new Step by Step Fostering website offers visitors a Mobile First Responsive Web Design (RWD) allowing for the Step by Step Fostering website’s content to be optimised for mobile interaction and predictably delivered irrespective of device. The addition of custom mobile device navigation results in the new Step by Step Fostering website having a highly optimised browsing experience.

Following completion of the Step by Step Fostering website we provided WordPress CMS training to allow the team at Step by Step Fostering to keep their new website up to date moving forward.

The Step by Step Fostering website is being hosted on our Managed WordPress Hosting which runs on UK based Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure, includes a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and offers multiple UK availability zones designed and managed in alignment with best security practices and IT security standards. This all provides a fast, secure, and reliable hosting platform for the new Step by Step Fostering website.
