John James Newman, son of Sandy Newman, lead singer of Scottish band Marmalade, is a singer/songwriter from the south east of England, UK. John has written songs for Kylie Minogue, Chesney Hawkes, Joe Cocker, Megan Henwood and X-Factor finalists in Europe. John has opened for the likes of The Sugababes, Natasha Bedingfield, Elkie Brooks, Dexy's Midnight Runners, Jools Holland and Alabama 3. In June 2010, John supported Bon Jovi at the O2 Arena in London with his band 'The Velvet Hearts'. In 2012 John appeared on the BBC One programme 'The Voice'; John's performance with co-contestant David Julien the finale to the most popular episode of the series. John's solo releases include albums 'Little Whispers', 'Brick By Brick' and 'The Basement Sessions'. Released with his band John has released the 'The Velvet Hearts' EP and album 'Into The World'.
